History
Harrisburg's Graf History

One morning in the summer of 1999 (okay, it was the weekend, it was afternoon, but I had just woken up), someone knocked on my door. When I got there, there was an envelope with a drawing on it that was definitely in a style that only a WKSL writer could have thrown down. Inside was the following history of graffiti in Harrisburg and a disk with some pictures.

The first writer to put up a piece in the burg was Philly Phil in the mid 80s.

Then, the writer known at that time as Sham met up with another writer, Jesk5 who helped him develop his construction of the letters. They formed a two man crew called "TEK!" - The Everlasting Kings. They would get together and hit some rooftops and the freight yard. After a year, Jesk5 moved away and Sham stopped writing. In 1995, Sham met a young cat who wanted to learn, so he showed him some shit he had learned from Jesk5. This kid was nice and didn't need much help - he just had style. His name was Nes. Sham changed his name to Ker and the two formed their own crew called "KSL" - Keepin Shit Live. Later, they hooked up with the old school writer FedOne from New York - then there were three. They tried to teach their friend Enos, but he didn't stay with it. They also hooked up with two writers from Baltimore, Roc and Kear (known as DA) and they all started to write together. Ker had hooked up with PoseII of fx and they all also got down with cats from PF (Philly Funk). They invited them to come to Harrisburg and get up. [See flicks from the Philly Funk visit here.] Soon after, Ker stopped writing. Nes is still rockin shit.
